Questions people ask

Does DailyLabel help with weight loss?

DailyLabel tracks the nutrients available for each food in the USDA and Open Food Facts databases, including calories. You can set daily calorie goals and monitor intake. However, it doesn't have dedicated weight loss features like Lose It! (weight tracker, calorie budgets, weight loss guides). If weight tracking is your primary need, Lose It! has specialized tools. DailyLabel is best for people who want detailed nutrition data beyond just calories.

Does DailyLabel have barcode scanning?

Yes, with DailyLabel Pro ($4.99 one-time). Scan any product barcode and get nutrition data from both USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. Lose It! includes barcode scanning free, but DailyLabel's scanning is powered by two transparent, verified databases instead of a proprietary one.

Can I import my Lose It! data?

Not currently. Lose It! doesn't offer an easy export, and our systems store data differently. But switching is simple: DailyLabel has no account requirement and minimal setup. Most people are logging normally within a few minutes of opening the app.

Does DailyLabel have social features like Lose It!'s challenges and groups?

No. DailyLabel is designed for private, individual tracking. No challenges, no friend lists, no leaderboards. If you value the community aspect of Lose It!, that's one thing DailyLabel intentionally doesn't offer.

What about my privacy?

DailyLabel is local-first. Your food log stays on your device and optionally syncs via your personal iCloud account using CloudKit. No account required, no third-party tracking, no data selling. Lose It! requires an account and stores your data on their servers.

Can I use DailyLabel on Android?

DailyLabel is iOS only right now (iPhone, iOS 18+). Lose It! is available on iOS, Android, and web. Android support is something we're considering based on demand.
