Questions people ask
Does DailyLabel help with weight loss?
DailyLabel tracks the nutrients available for each food in the USDA and Open Food Facts databases, including calories. You can set daily calorie goals and monitor intake. However, it doesn't have dedicated weight loss features like Lose It! (weight tracker, calorie budgets, weight loss guides). If weight tracking is your primary need, Lose It! has specialized tools. DailyLabel is best for people who want detailed nutrition data beyond just calories.
Does DailyLabel have barcode scanning?
Yes. Barcode scanning is free in DailyLabel, with lookup data from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts when available. Lose It! also offers barcode scanning as part of its Premium feature set; DailyLabel shows a source badge and lets you edit nutrient values when source data needs cleanup.
Can I import my Lose It! data?
Not currently. DailyLabel does not import Lose It! data today, and the systems store data differently. Switching is still simple: DailyLabel has no account requirement and minimal setup, so most people are logging normally within a few minutes of opening the app.
Does DailyLabel have social features like Lose It!'s challenges and groups?
No. DailyLabel is designed for private, individual tracking. No challenges, no friend lists, no leaderboards. If you value the community aspect of Lose It!, that's one thing DailyLabel intentionally doesn't offer.
What about my privacy?
DailyLabel does not require an account or collect app data. Your log stays on your device and can optionally sync through your personal iCloud account. Lose It! is an account-based service, which supports its broader device and community features.
Can I use DailyLabel on Android?
DailyLabel is iPhone only right now (iOS 18+). Lose It! offers broader mobile and wearable access. Android and broader platform support are something we're considering based on demand.
